Research Ethics Workshop Held at Aden University, Yemen, August 22-24, 2016

Professor Abdullah Saeed Hattab, Professor of Social Medicine & Public Health, and Director, Center for Ethics of Science & Technology at Aden University,  organized a 3-day workshop on research ethics between August 22-24, 2016.  Professor Hattab, who is a MERETI alumni from 2008, reported that 32 two faculty members of medical,  dental and pharmacy schools took part in the workshop.  Introductory ppt presentations,  case studies and group work were the main educational strategies used in this workshop.  Topics covered included: historical background of the international codes and guidelines for research ethics,  principles of research  ethics,  the informed consent and roles and functions of research ethics committees.  The project was supported by CDRF Global.
